Untitled

You tell me life is pretty
I double up and laugh
You try to purge our hate
When hate is all we have.

Apparently the world
Can become a better place
But people never change, except
To grow and use more space.

The poor can die in groves
The sick can writhe and bleed
But you don’t lift a finger
To help them in their need.

The air we breathe is filth
Our water, rank and foul
The whole of human species
Is destruction on the prowl.

Don’t try to make excuses
You cannot fix what’s wrong.
Why do we live in a place
Where humans don’t belong?
